The Program’s Picks

sportsbook_bigscreens

Every week the the degenerate gamblers who run this site attempt to pick games for the upcoming college football weekend. We are usually completely and totally wrong, blinded by team allegiance, alumni status, and probably a 5th of Makers. That being the case, we’ve enlisted help of professionals…not for the Makers problem, but for the gambling one. The Geek Sheet experts have decided to set us all straight this season. They’ll be here to give you the winners, blow your mind with high level statistical analysis, and shamelessly plug their own site…which is something we have great admiration for. Be sure to check out their site for more. Now, on to the picks…

Records

The Juice: 35-24-1

Mike Medallion: 19-40-1

Bunkie Perkins: 30-29-1

The Geek: 27-32-1

Bama -10 @ Auburn

The Juice: Auburn. There is a different between what  I truly believe and what I will pick. I just can’t do it. I think Auburn can play Bama tough for 3 quarters, but they do not have the horses right now to pull off the upset.

Mike Medallion: ALABAMA. Let’s just pray that my losing streak continues.

Bunkie Perkins: Auburn. For no other reason than the fact that 2 of 3 FOTPers are at the game and all three of us are in the state of Alabama for the holiday.  Thats got to mean something other than the fact that all three of us couldn’t find anything better to do on Thanksgiving.

The Geek. Auburn. Tre Smith Takes the Tide to the woodshed…wha???  Stranger things have happened, and in all honestly if AU keep it close in the 1st Q they have the offense to extend this into the 4th quarter.

Ole Miss -8 @ Miss State

TJ: Ole Miss. Ole Miss is finding their identity, Miss State is missing a Tebow like entity. One of these will prevail.

MM: Ole Miss. In honor of The Blind Side…being such a hit movie.

BP: Ole Miss. I was witness to the most violently one sided football games in the history of this series last year.  I don’t expect the same level of carnage this year, but the Rebs will muster up enough to get the win and cover in Starkvegas.

The Geek: Ole Miss. McCulster + Ole Miss D = too much for Team Cowbell

OU -9 1/2 @ Oklahoma State

TJ. OSU. Ssrly. Cowboyz.

MM. OSU. Because of the MAN.

BP: OSU. If I was a smart man, I’d tell you that the 9 1/2 point spread here indicates that Vegas knows something…but thankfully Ive never been accused of such…the Cowboys put the Sooners out of their misery.

The Geek: OSU. Cowboys match up pretty well here, and OU finishes the limp home to the finish line this year

Florida -24 1/2 @ FSU

TJ: Florida. Expect a Tebow/Meyer post-game embrace that will garner more FCC complaints than the Adam Lambert AMA performance.

MM: FSU. Now it’s officially going to be a blowout for the Gators.

BP: Florida State. Only a heartless bastard would pick against Tebow on Senior Day…so yeah.

The Geek: Florida. FSUs D can’t stop anyone, and even a conservative Urban Meyer should cruise to 40…I think 14 is a gift for FSU against the UF D.

BONUS PICKS

UGA +9.5 @ GA TECH

TJ: GA TECH. I repeat: UGA suxors.

Syracuse (+12.5) @ UCONN

MM. UCONN. Let’s try this again…when all else fails, pick the team playing Syracuse. Especially one coming off one of the biggest wins in school history…there’s not going to be a let down the following week, right? Crap. I suck, but I’ll stick with the pick anyway.

LSU – 3 1/2 v. Arkansas

BP: LSU. Not even LSU fan thinks they’ll cover this weekend, but Arkansas can’t win on the road and LSU’s secondary will limit Mallet’s effectiveness.  Tigers by double digits.

New Mexico State +11 (18) @ SJSU (19)

TG: This is one of our recommended plays for the week.  Despite being just 36-38-2 this year we have a lifetime record (5 years) of 63% (245-147-8), including 68% (52-24-1) last year!    We have 6 recommended plays on Saturday (including NMSU) Click here for our recommended plays this week.  To see our analysis of the NMSU game, click here.  We usually have 3-5 games a week we take a very hard look at but decided to pass on.  You can sign up to receive these plays free of charge by visiting our website, http://www.thegeeksheetsports.com or clicking here.
